Release Date:

December 6, 2016

Affected Projects:

Android for MSMFirefox OS for MSMQRD Android

Advisory ID:

QCIR-2016-00065-1

CVE ID(s):

CVE-2016-6760

Summary:

The following security vulnerabilities have been identified: CVE-2016-6760 In libOmxVdec.so, omx_vdec::allocate_output_headers() allocates buffers using the count "drv_ctx.op_buf.actualcount" which can be modified by a malformed binder request after the buffer is allocated. However, omx_vdec::use_output_buffer() still uses the modified "drv_ctx.op_buf.actualcount" to access the original buffer, leading to a heap overflow.
